elf ear virgin

Remember the jewelry festival/fair/freakout a while back? I was talking to an elf there, blathering about earrings, and she said something about not being able to wear earrings. I did a wtf, and her response was something like, "Because of the ears. LOL. It's ok - you're an elf ear virgin."

It was true, but no more ... not after I saw Urbanity's "birdy" elf ears on the feed. I was intrigued, because I didn't think the photo showed the bird well enough. I mean, I could tell that it was blue, but how was it shaped? What did it really look like? Was it even remotely awsum, or was it just a little misshapen blue blob? I had to know. So I got my first elf ears.

And I am very pleased with them. The ears come with a HUD, perhaps that's standard? I just picked the lightest color and called it done, I'm too lazy to make the color go perfect mixy mixy.

But what about the bird Owly? The bird ... the bird ...

Well it's completely adorable. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what kind of bird it's supposed to be, but it is blue and perches right there on my elfy ear, and that's good enough for me.

Now what can I shape-shift into next ...

50L friday owls!

Scribble!

For 50L Friday, Scribble has an owl dress/sweater thingy for 50L. It's going to be 300L after Friday. That's kind of a good deal.

There it is, up there, in all it's glory. Please bear in mind, the pants and underpants layers are part of the sweater/top, there are no glitchpants. As Ariel put it, "this sweater blows your panties away!" Mhmm. In fact, you can see a little bit of my hip in the shot above. So, fair warning, if you don't wear something underneath, your bits might show. Nonetheless, I am quite delighted with this sweater and dress, that includes an owlish option!

Know what else you can get that is owly at Scribble? A couple of owl pillows with poses in them, and a toy owl, seen here, that makes you smile when you click it.

Hm, yeah, I'm not so sure about my av's smile. It looks like I am grimacing. ;-/ But the toy owl is cute! (In fact, I am named after a toy owl ...) So what're you waiting for? It's out now, go get!

I felt a little uninspired for today's photo. So what I did was, I put on some big hair, because it was time for big hair, and opened the map and tp'd somewhere random. And I found somewhere pretty. I probably won't get so lucky next time I try that.

the owlery!

Some months back, I stumbled across The Owlery. I freaked out just a little bit.The Owlery had several different kinds of owls, both to be perched in the environment or worn on the shoulder. At the time, I got myself a snowy owl for my shoulder, and planned to go back later for more.

Here he is! Awww, I love him.

But when I went back to get more owls and blog the shop, it was gone. :-( I IM'd the creator, Owl Demina, a couple times. Honestly, I felt like an annoying, gushing, creepy stalker, because I really really like these owls, and I wanted more. I never heard back from him, until just a few days ago. It seems he will be opening a mainstore soon, and has opened a smaller shop right here. And that's where I got this lil guy ...

 Barn owl!

Mr. Barn Owl here caused a gentleman of my acquaintance to squee, "kawaiiiiiiiii!!!!" That is a direct quote. He is not prone to such outbursts. It cannot be denied, it is kawaii!

There are sculpty owls out there that might be more owl-shaped, however, for me, these owls are truly the best. They hoot, blink, wink, swivel, stretch, nestle down. Not to mention, the feather textures are terrific.

I am a fan of the owls at Animania and 2xtreme, of course, but Owl Demina's owls are my very favorite in all of SL, and I am so glad they will be available again! The next one I'd like to acquire is the barred owl:

kawaiiiiiiiiiii!!!
