I complain a lot that I can never find enough owls ISL, so to have found two within days of each other really blows my mindhole out. The first is the lil ball of indignation about three posts ago, and the other is this:

This is a BIG OWL. We were wandering through the Welsh sims when we came across this owly fellow. He was sitting next to a purple teddy bear, which was ... weird. I tried to focus on the owl.

My companion (Oh - didn't you know I'm a Timelord?) said something along the lines of, "You need this owl. YOU NEED THIS OWL! Let's go get it! YES! RIGHT NOW!" Sheesh! And unlike The Doctor, I
can be persuaded. I did
need another owl ...
Right click, edit, Julia Hathor, picks, ok, this is from Creative Fantasy Home and Garden. We go there, and I realize I had been here before. Oh yes, the legendary CFHG. I do believe I was looking for an owl the time before, an owl of lore, an owl I had never found before ...
What is with all the ellipses today!?
Here's the thing: the six sims of CFHG are wonderful to visit if you have a couple of hours to wander aimlessly and get inspired by what you find there. Like, you may stumble across the elk and go, "OMG. I love this elk. I need this elk! For my yard! Maybe I need more land. I know - I'll buy a sim and build the entire thing around this elk!" You know, stuff like that. That happens to you, right?
Please note the 3-prim bush betwixt the elkses, which is adorned with different kinds of birds! Cardinals, chickadees, and bluebirds! Whee!
Now if you go to CFHG with an objective in mind, such as "buy owl," you are probably going to get a little frustrated, and possibly disappointed. Like the time I was there before. The stuff for sale - and there is a ton of it - is all set up very organically and naturally. Buildings, birds, plants, animals, furniture, etc. it just goes
on. Beautiful stuff beautifully displayed, but somewhat lacking in the immediate gratification department, especially if you need your owl NOW.

This is me next to a notecard-dispensing mushroom, and another be-birded 3-prim bush. The notecards contain landmarks to help you find things on the sim, kind of in general categories, but I think you're better off just exploring, even if you do have a shopping objective. You just need to be prepared for the fact that it's going to take as long as it's going to take.
I asked my companion to search the 3 north sims, and I would take the south 3, and whoever found the owl first would win. Oh those sweet words: "found it." I totally ruled, with crown, scepter, and parliament.

It's a bazillion prims and a kajillion lindens, animated, with noises, but I got it, and a raven too. The owl is kind of wonky-eyed - he winks a bit - and the feather textures blow my mindhole out.

The owl now lives on the roof. He blinks, he gets sleepy, he gets alert, he hoots. He kind of overlooks the pigeon cage that PT built, menacingly. (bwahahahaha) The raven is on the dock, ravening it up. Both are quite awsum. My tiny island is becoming such an aviary! Yay!

CFHG has
many different kinds of birds: eagles, red-tailed hawks, gulls, etc. Most are animated and have sound. I found some cute bluebirds along with some birdhouses:

These birdhouses are pretty nice, and so are the birds (the mama is feeding the chicks butterflies!), but prepare yourself for birdhouses of awsumness in a future post of a personal and commercial nature. ;-D
