hey, howsa bout some birdies?

So these photo-a-day posts I've been doing have made me very aware of how much time passes between SL birdwatching posts, and I figured it's about time to get back to work on my list of birdy things to share (and believe it or not, it is a looooooong list!).

I had read somewhere ... um, halp, where!? some blog ... about Split Pea having "birds to chew on." Which made me go ... WTF? Is this some neko thing? Grayson, my favorite kitty, has this catnip mouse he chews on that I can't seem to stop clicking on. I have to admit, the spoons, the toast, the cookies, the other random food stuff people attach to their mouths - I kinda don't get it. ;-/

Anyhoot, I had to see for myself, and this is what I found:

Well! It's called "little bird, come into my body." Oh my.

There are two versions: this one with the bird attached to a string which is attached to the mouth, and the other with the bird simply attached to the mouth. It's pretty cute. It's kind of like ... oh, I'm taking my bird for a walk, oh wait, these groceries are heavy and where are my keys? (/me puts bird leash in mouth)

Or something?

I get the idea Split Pea is known for hats, and by god there are a number of feathery ones. I had to come away with TWO Zelda peacock feather hats because OMG they are just 10L each!!!

They come in several colors and plaids and omg just go get one already, shoo!

A note about the skin: This skin? Is not a classic Owly skin. I usually wear the lightest skins I can find, and when the new Tuli present arrived, I kept clicking between "pale" and "fair," trying to figure out which one was the lightest. Truthfully, both shades are waaaaay darker than my usual. So I thought, wtf Owly, try a dark skin for once, and I put on the darkest one, "dark tan."

Well, Ceru called me "Malibu Owly." Granted, I was wearing the Truth "Minx" hair in ivory at the time. LOL. I'm still not sure how I feel about that, or the tan, but I'm going to try rocking the this skin for a few days, see how it goes.
