I am the Krazy to his Ignatz, the Duckie to his Andie, the Cyrano to his Roxane, the Charlie Brown to his Little Red-Headed Girl ...
Wow, the metaphors really went astray there. Suddenly I'm the dude? Let's stick with Krazy and Ignatz.
Aside from the brick, that might be the most accurate comparison! Admiration and oblivious pursuit met with bemused exasperation. My lil ainjil!
(This just struck me: was Krazy's language the origin of the LOLcat language!? The mind reels ...)
